Welcome to Ghost of a Podcast. I'm your host, Jessica Lanyadoo. I'm an astrologer, psychic medium, and animal communicator, and I'm going to give you your weekly horoscope and no-bullshit mystical advice for living your very best life.
Welcome back to Ghost of a Podcast. This week, we're going to look at the astrology of May 31st through June 6th. And it's going to start off with a Full Moon in Sagittarius. But first, I just want to take a moment to appreciate you. I want to appreciate, in particular, every person who has joined me on the podcast to make themselves vulnerable in public to get a reading. The drive to grow, to heal, to move through challenges, is a very human one.
And here on the podcast and on Patreon and other spaces where I teach and get to share my work as an astrologer and a psychic and all those kinds of good things with you, I am getting the opportunity to really get to know people. And people are showing up. And you are likely showing up, whether you're doing it on the podcast, getting a reading with your face showing or as a cute little cartoon, or if you're just listening along and struggling with ideas, struggling to both learn and unlearn things, to explore what's possible, to explore what may be true, to push up against old stories—this is the work of growth. And it's a deeply individual process. But it's also a community project. It's both.
And the truth of the matter is the more you learn, the more you know about yourself, about spirituality, about humanity and life, the more you encounter paradox, you encounter "and alsos." There's something so vulnerable about getting a reading, especially, I think, readings with me. I can be a little confronting. And I just—again, I want to just really appreciate everyone who has showed up for that process.
You know, I offer readings on the podcast for many reasons. I spent like 26 years where my whole career was giving one-on-one readings, and I loved it, and it created a really strong foundation for me as a practitioner. But through the vehicle of this podcast and my Patreon, I've had these opportunities to share my work, like giving in-depth, hopefully healing readings, to one person so that it helps them, but by sharing it in public, it helps many people. It does.
And you may be somebody who's been helped by a reading or by many readings that you've heard me give, or maybe I just gave you a reading. There's something really beautiful about recognizing somebody can have a really similar chart to you or a really different chart from you and still share core dynamics with you because that's really, at its core, what astrology teaches, is that we are made up of the same stuffs. We are quite similar. Even in our differences, there are so many similarities. This is the way of the human.
And as a person who deeply believes in growth and change and our capacity to engage in those things consciously and to really evolve over the course of our lives, I really honor and appreciate the journey of getting to do this work with so many people over the course of my career. And now, getting to do this in public with you is—for me, it is a real joy, and it is also a real honor. And again, that's me as an individual. But the way that we engage with each other—that's a community project, right?
And so my hope is that you are working on cultivating empathy and care for yourself and that extends out to other people, that you are somewhere on your journey and that you are practicing cultivating acceptance for wherever that is, because it is from that foundation of self-acceptance—which is not consent. It's not saying, "Okay. I accept it, and therefore nothing changes." But it is from acceptance that we can evolve, adapt, be authentically curious, learn and unlearn. And that's where not only our individual welfare expands, not only our individual growth occurs, but our ability to show up in community, with community, to unlearn toxic traits handed to us from a fucking fucked-up system—it's where we can meet each other in our differences and in our similarities and do so in good faith.
So just top of my mind today. And you will understand more when I tell you all about that Full Moon in Sagittarius. And if this conversation about showing up for the project of healing, being in connection and community with others as well as being in connecting with yourself, having good-faith conversations is—it's like what you're working on. Again, I invite you to join us over on Patreon, where we're really unpacking and exploring this stuff.
And if you want to get a reading with me, there's only one way to do it these days, and it's through the podcast. So you can send a question through the contact form on my website that gives you all the prompts you need to give me all the information I need so that your question can be considered for the pod. And if you're somebody who likes privacy, I go out of my way—I'm a big privacy guy—to make sure that everybody uses a fake name and everybody has the option to use a cute little cartoon filter over their face for anonymity. So, you know, just musings. Just musings.
But now let's get into your horoscope. The first exact transit of this week happens on Sunday, May 31st. And we have our second Full Moon of the month. So there will be a Full Moon in Sagittarius at 9 degrees of Sadge and 55 minutes, and that happens at exactly 1:45 a.m. Pacific Time. This Full Moon I will unpack in just a moment, but first, I want to acknowledge that later that afternoon at 5:33 p.m. Pacific Time, Mercury hangs out at 29 degrees of Gemini—very anaretic, very peak Gemini energy—forming a sextile to Chiron at the same degrees of Aries—again, very anaretic, very peak Aries.
Mercury sextile to Chiron is a meaningful influence in this Full Moon chart. And the ruling planet to the Sun in Gemini is Mercury. We really want to pay attention to this. The Mercury sextile to Chiron is an opportunity to be curious about your core wounding and what it means about you, your anger and what it means about you, your motivations and what it means about you. It is so easy to get distracted by a myriad of—I don't know—details about our story, identities, theories, interactions we've had, distraction we love, whether they make us happy or not. It's so easy to just lose track of ourselves around that stuff.
This transit is one that really encourages curiosity and the ability to adapt to what you learn. Mercury is your mind, and Chiron is related to core wounding. And so this is a great time for therapies of all kind. It's a great time for healing work. And when I say healing work, I don't mean on a super woo level. I mean it more on a psychological or psychodynamic level. We're talking about your mind, primarily, because Mercury.
Now, the fact that this coincides with the Full Moon deepens our capacity during this Full Moon to ask hard questions, explore possibilities, and move through, kind of, defenses that we may have built up over time to protect ourselves from insecurities that we hold. So, again, 10 out of 10. Good timing for this transit. It's really, really helpful.
Now, let's pop in to this Full Moon chart. And if you're looking along at the video version of this episode with me, I want to give you the gentle reminder that when we're looking at the chart of a Full Moon or a New Moon, we don't pay any attention to the angles or the houses. That's just not what the chart's for.
Okay. Okay. Let's look at this chart. A Full Moon in Sagittarius—this is always going to be a great opportunity for letting go of stories that you've outgrown, limitations to your freedom. Sagittarius is a really experiential zodiac sign. And so, when a Full Moon in Sagittarius comes up, it can spark tension inside of you around experiences that you want to be having, that you're yearning for, or your emotional attachment to experiences from the past. Sagittarius is also a very global zodiac sign. It is kind of all over the damn place, and that is exciting. It's like a zodiac sign related to multiculturalism. And so we have the opportunity to really excavate xenophobia during a Full Moon in Sagittarius, and timing is very helpful for that.
This transit, this Full Moon, is a powerful time for you to not only deepen your empathy, your consideration, and your care for others, but also to cultivate and explore an empathetic inquiry into the stories you tell yourself and others. The Full Moon is trining Saturn and Neptune, and the Sun is sextiling the Saturn and Neptune booboos in Aries. And so this is both stabilizing and spiritualizing. It empowers empathy in the real world in a sustainable way—fucking lovely. We need this. This is great.
This transit has so much to do with truth, the journey for truth. And that Mercury sextile to Chiron certainly is in alignment with this. The thing about truth is that the more you learn/the deeper you get on your journey for truth, the more you find yourself on a path of paradox. And when I say paradox, I'm talking about this and also that. And learning how to "and also" is such an important thing for being in right relationship with yourself and others, and even with circumstances.
Your capacity to explore and stay present for nuance and even for paradox shouldn't diminish, in any way, what's real and what's not, what's true and what's false. Having the capacity to understand that there is such a thing as truth, which means there is such a thing as not truth, and also, there is nuance to many things. Some things are paradoxically true and not true at the same time.
This requires a willingness to stay in uncertainty, to not know the answer, to not be looking for the journey to lead you to a destination, and that destination is where you believe all questions ended. A Full Moon in Sagittarius, this Full Moon in Sagittarius, is an invitation to stay on the journey because the journey is the whole, entire point.
So much of the conversation I'm hearing in online spaces around AI is really talking about how, sure, AI can—I don't know—do something creative in like two seconds flat. But part of the human condition is about the journey of engaging with your creativity, exploring, and playing and innovating. We don't need a quick fix to what is meant to be a long-term project. The experience of exploring, the stories you tell yourself, the stories you believe, the stories that inspire you—this project is part of what makes life full of meaning.
And so, this Full Moon, I want to encourage you to hang out in the "I don't know," to hang out in the uncertainty, to hang out in the messiness, because there's a great deal of creative and nuanced potential there. Now, I'm not saying get lost there. Boundaries, boundaries. But this is not a fixed-sign moment. We are hanging out in mutability, and that mutability is inherently adaptable. And for those who don't know, the zodiac sign of Sagittarius and Gemini, the two zodiac signs involved in this Full Moon, are mutable signs.
Mutable signs happen when a season is changing, right? When things are shifting. They're not this or that. They're a little bit of both. And so I invite you to explore where that exists inside of you, where that exists inside of your stories, your truth, your situations, your desires, the things you yearn for, and the things you're trying to release and let go of because, of course, Full Moons are always about what we need to let go of. Emotions come to the surface so that we fucking cope with them. That's the assignment.
What you believe, what you hold to be true, is, in a meaningful way, influenced by your experiences. And the way that your perspective is influenced by your experiences is a very important thing to consider. As your perspective shifts, you can hold your experiences and the stories you tell yourself and others about them in a different way. And maybe it's time for that; maybe it isn't. But you can't know if you don't come at it with curiosity and openness.
This is a very good moment to remind you that great intelligence without heart can lead to terrible acts, acts of violence, acts of cruelty. There is a big difference between intelligence and wisdom. Wisdom holds heart and is informed by experience and not just data. This Full Moon in Sagittarius is a moment where you can really fill yourself up with the warmth—because it is a fire sign—of your lived experience, of the things you care about, and the experiences you've had and the experience you want to call into your life.
Part of how you can do this is by letting go of limiting beliefs, releasing your attachment to old stories that have kept you stuck or that maybe aren't even true. And how do you let go of old stories? Every time you hear yourself thinking them, every time you catch yourself saying them, say to yourself—say to yourself out loud or in your head—"That might be true, and it might not be true. That is one perspective. It's not the only empirical truth."
Inserting that kind of acknowledgment, that, "This is how I hold this experience, and it's not the only way to hold it," leaves room for your heart and your mind to start grappling with that. And then they can evolve or not, right? But this is the time to try. This is a time to try. This Full Moon can kind of provoke ways in which you need to find more space inside or yourself or in your life. It can connect you with passions and beliefs and convictions that can drive you to act in ways that are really important to your truth.
Be open to it. Be open to it all. And if you are open to it, it'll be messy. It's a little messy. And that messiness is not a bad thing. It includes uncertainty and shifting perspectives and maybe energy that comes out too hot sometimes and not hot enough others. That's okay. You are actually very much allowed to be imperfect. And the people around you are very much allowed to be imperfect. And you're allowed to make mistakes. You're allowed to get some things really right and other things really wrong.
It's about staying with the commitment to be in process and conversation to evolve, to grow, to learn, and to unlearn. That's the assignment. It's not to be perfect. So, if you catch yourself being really critical of other people and being like, "Oh, they're fucked up in this way, and that's unacceptable," ask yourself, is it unacceptable, or do you need to simply have a boundary around it? Because there's a really big difference between those two things.
If we don't leave space for ourselves and others to be in process, then what happens? We get stuck. We get judgy. And it doesn't lead to happiness, doesn't lead to wellness, doesn't lead to the wellness of you and your very personal life, and it doesn't lead to the wellness of our communities.
This Full Moon has the potential to be incredibly fertile, really expansive in how it lands for you, and I want to encourage you to welcome in that energy and tap into it. Stay with that energy. Stay with the inquiry, because there is so much growth potential inside of it.
Now, that brings us to Monday, June 1st. I'm not going to say too much other than the month begins with Mercury ingressing into Cancer. And that further helps our investment and inquiry into the heart, into what we feel and into what we believe. And so, again, tap in to tune up.
On Tuesday, June 2nd, we've got a Sun sextile to Saturn. It's exact at 3:49 p.m. Pacific Time, with the Sun at 12 degrees of Gemini and 24 minutes and Saturn hanging out at the same degrees of Aries. So this is a lovely transit. It's grounding and stabilizing. This transit coincides with when you are capable of making grounded and realistic plans, when you can not just handle things in an efficient and sustainable way, but you can show up kind of owning your authority or owning your capacity.
This is a very useful transit because of how grounding it is. There are no downsides. This is just a good time for actively coping with things. And that might mean recovery. That might mean inquiry. That might mean organization or action. There's not only one way of coping with things. Meet the moment as you are, when you are, where you are. And from that intention address what needs addressing. That's the assignment of this transit.
And we're happy to see it, because on Wednesday, the 3rd, unfortunately, we have a very challenging transit that will be supported by that Sun sextile to Saturn. At exactly 5:18 p.m. Pacific Time on the 3rd, Mercury will be at 3 degrees of Cancer—man, did it zip, moved quick—and seven minutes, and it's forming an exact square to Neptune at the same degrees of Aries.
So Mercury square Neptune is a stressful transit. Were we feeling this transit during the Full Moon? It's been building up. So, yeah, we were feeling it. It was weak. It builds up real quick. And so what that can feel like in practice is feeling fucking anxious, feeling panicky, feeling overwhelmed, feeling burned out, feeling tired, okay? Mercury square to Neptune is an anxiety-provoking transit, not in an overstimulated way, but in an "Oh no, what's going to happen next?" way.
Because of how this transit kicks up anxiety and uncertainty, it makes you a little more gullible. It makes you a little bit more susceptible to misunderstandings and to misinformation or disinformation. In fact, this transit can coincide with bad actors on purpose promoting misinformation and disinformation, especially things that provoke fear and anxiety. This can coincide with further health scares, and this is not something that I would encourage you to treat as misinformation or disinformation.
But the thing is about information in this world that we live in where we are all online getting exposed to so much propaganda all the time from all places is that it's on us to develop media literacy. It's on us to be like, "Okay, what is the date? What is the source? What is the context of this information?" before you go spreading it, because this transit can coincide with all of those things.
This transit essentially creates the need for boundaries. The reason why it creates a need for boundaries is because it makes you really porous, really energetically sensitive. This can, again, lead to anxiety and overwhelm. And so it's on you to figure out, what can you take in and take on in a healthy way? What is important enough to you to step outside of your comfort zone or what is sustainable for you? Because in life, we must make choices. And in particular, in these exceptional and violent times we are living through, we must make choices. They're not always going to be the healthiest hiring to do. We gotta step outside of what is easy or fun or pleasurable a lot of times in life, and certainly at this time in life, I think.
But again, this is about boundaries. Boundaries are not about keeping the world outside. It's about self-containment. It's about self-maintenance. And so this transit makes those things challenging and therefore more important to do. This is a bad transit for consciousness-raising drugs, okay? It's just—it's fucking terrible for it. Don't do it. Don't do anything that's going to further demoralize or weaken your system. It's a bad time for fasting and anything that's just really hard on the body because Mercury square to Neptune really—it puts you in this state of just feeling really off and out of it.
While this transit can coincide with you feeling really inspired spiritually, it's a terrible time for doing deep spiritual work. Therefore, we don't want to do deep spiritual work during that Full Moon. So, if you have a practice where you fuck with Tarot or you do candle work or something that's already integrated into your life and it's very—you don't need to step outside of yourself to do it, go for it.
But you want to be careful when it comes to this transit because it weakens your auric field. In other words, it makes you more energetically sensitive. And that sensitivity—it's not really clear where it's coming from or what's going on. And so it's really important for you to prioritize taking care of yourself and protecting yourself so that what you take in, you take in consciously.
This transit is uncomfortable. And again, the most common thing that people will experience is anxiety, demoralization, confusion, and exhaustion. And so, if you're feeling any of those things, astrology explains why, and you need better boundaries. Now, better boundaries with what, where, who? I don't know, but you probably do. So, whether those boundaries are super energetic, they're very psychological, they're behavioral, or a little bit of both—you know, TBD.
Okay. So that's it. That's your horoscope for the week. I am realizing right now I didn't give you a TL;DR. I would like to apologize. But I guess I could TL;DR you. Okay. TL;DR. This is the time to tap into limiting stories and release them, to be willing and open to do the work of healing and to do it in a way that is sustainable and look out for exhaustion, demoralization, and anxiety. Meet it with boundaries. That's your too-late TL;DR. Okay? Okay.
