Welcome to Ghost of a Podcast. I'm your host, Jessica Lanyadoo. I'm an astrologer, psychic medium, and animal communicator, and I'm going to give you your weekly horoscope and no-bullshit mystical advice for living your very best life.
Welcome back to Ghost of a Podcast. This week, we're looking at the astrology of September 7th through the 13th of 2025. And I'm trying something new this week, where I'm doing a little bit of a video episode. So you can find it wherever video episodes stream.
Okay. There's a lot to talk about in this week's astrology because the week starts off with a Lunar Eclipse. We are in Eclipse Season, which speaks to why you are likely to be feeling really emotionally activated at this time, or maybe you're not super activated, but the people around you, the people you're engaging with, are acting in ways that feel out of character, maybe disproportionate or intense.
Eclipse Season is meant to, more than anything, stimulate our emotions. Now, over on my Patreon, I did about a 40-minute-long live for all of my members, so including my free members, about the Eclipse. So, if you would like to take my mini-class on the Eclipse for free, you can become a member of my Patreon, either paid, of course, if you want to support my work, or become a free member. And you will have access to that video.
Okay. So we're going to talk about the astrology of this week. We're going to start with the Eclipse, but I want to give you a little bit of a high-level overview. The energy is emotional and impulsive. And because it's both emotional and impulsive, you can imagine that you or others in your life or in the world at-large are likely to be very reactive. So take a moment to consider how you behave when you are reactive. Consider what you tend to do. Are you a person who tends to dig in your heels and get defensive? Do you act impulsively and compulsively? Do you get exhausted and shut down? Do you do something else?
It is valuable to reflect on your own habits and patterns because whenever we go through any transit—but let's focus on the Eclipses. Whenever you go through any transit or an Eclipse, your patterns get activated so that you may bring more awareness, more embodiment, more presence, and more intentionality to whatever it is you're engaging with. And because we're in Eclipse Season, you are engaging with your emotions. That's the assignment, is dealing with your emotions. So whatever it is that you think about Eclipses, whatever it is that you have been learning about Eclipses, I want to just give you this very clear and simple directive: you are meant to feel your feelings during an Eclipse. You are meant to cope with your emotions in an emotionally intelligent, kind, empathetic, and patient way. This is true for any Eclipse. This is true for this Eclipse.
Now, in particular, we're going to start off the week by looking at the Lunar Eclipse on the 7th of September at exactly 11:09 a.m. Pacific Time. Lunar Eclipses are Full Moons, but they're not just Full Moons. Full Moons impact you for about a month. Eclipses impact you for about six months. So it's a much bigger deal. Lunar Eclipses, like Full Moons, are an invocation to release, to let go.
Now, let's take a peek at this particular Lunar Eclipse chart. The Eclipse is exact, as I said, on the 7th of September, 11:09 a.m. Pacific Time. And the Moon will be at 15 degrees of Pisces and 22 minutes in its exactitude. A Full Moon or an Eclipse in Pisces is going to stimulate not just your emotions but how you sense and experience your emotions. The Moon is about your feelings in an emotional way, and Pisces is about your feelings in a more intuitive, unconscious, and energetic way.
And so, a lot of times, under intense Piscean Lunar energies, like we're in now, you experience burnout. You experience empathy fatigue. You experience so much energetic and emotional noise that it's challenging to sort through it in a way that makes sense for what's actually happening. In other words, it's hard to stay present.
During this Lunar Eclipse, part of your assignment is to figure out how to stay emotionally present with your feelings and not jump into that Sun in Virgo conjunction to Mercury in Virgo that is active in this chart where you convert you feelings into thoughts, you become perfectionistic about how you feel, what you're doing, how your life is going, etc., where you become analytic and you pair stories and strategies and theories to your emotions.
The time for theories and stories was in August. It will be in October. It is not in September. September is the time—and in particular this Lunar Eclipse is the time—for feeling your feelings, staying with your emotions. Because the Moon is conjunct the North Node in Pisces, we are meant to stay with the sensations. Your sensitivities, your feelings, your subconscious drives, your emotional patterns require your care and attention.
And in classic Lunar form, we can only move at the pace of our emotions when staying in emotional integrity, which means your mind can move a lot faster than your heart. Practice staying in alignment with your heart. If you need to move slowly, if you don't have answers or even theories about why you're feeling or how to handle it, hang out there. Spend time there.
This Eclipse is so important for you and it's so important for us because how you care for yourself, the empathy, patience, and grace you are able to extend to others, is radical and essential in a time where we are living through the rise of fascism and white Christian nationalism, which is so inherently perfectionistic and demanding of people.
Kindness and love are radical motivations. They are radical acts in capitalism, in authoritarianism, in times of conflict. If you are scared—and honestly, this Lunar Eclipse is likely to activate a lot of anxieties and fears. And if you are scared, finding an empathetic and emotionally honest and sustainable way of engaging with your fears is really healthy. It's really helpful. So how can you stay present with your fears instead of, again, jumping to that Sun/Mercury conjunction and become in your head about it, defending your fears, explaining your fears, trying to fix your fears?
This is a time for feeling your feelings, and that includes your challenging and unpleasant feelings. The broader landscape of this Eclipse includes a Uranus trine to Pluto. This is happening in the bigger picture. And this speaks to our individual and collective capacity for growth, for progress—progress on big levels.
And so this transit of the Uranus/Pluto trine empowers you and me and us to innovate new ways of being connected to each other, of being connected to ourselves with empathy and kindness and patience. Finding ways of facilitating progress that are not perfectionistic but instead empathetic—that is radical in these times that we find ourselves in. It is radical in the context of white Christian nationalism.
Now, we are also going through a Saturn conjunction to Neptune. This won't be exact until 2026, but we are 100 percent experiencing the effects of it now in 2025, in September of 2025. And this transit—it makes it really confusing about what's real. "Do I need new structure, or do I need less structure?" Saturn conjunction to Neptune dissolves walls and boundaries. And sometimes that's exactly what we need, and sometimes that is the last thing we need. It takes emotional intelligence to assess which is which. And emotional intelligence is different than analytic intelligence. It's different than strategy.
Emotional intelligence requires emotional presence. And that requires moving at the pace of your emotions, which is slower than the pace of your mind. The thing about astrology is it's such an analytic tool. We talk about astrology. We use all these different techniques to get at prediction, to get at the truth of things. It's very exciting. But it's also very heady. We don't want to overuse the tool.
In other words, this is the time for you to feel your feelings, to tap in and to notice where are your boundaries at, keeping in mind that rules are things that you assert to other people; boundaries are things that you embody and hold for yourself. You communicate them to others, but it's your responsibility to uphold them. And in order to identify your boundaries and to hold them, you need to have self-worth. You need to have self-awareness. And you need to have grace because nobody identifies and holds boundaries perfectly. That doesn't happen.
This is not a time for perfectionism. I can't overstate it. It is a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. It is a time for grace and humanity—your humanity, our shared humanity. You will make mistakes. I will make mistakes. We will make mistakes. And how we navigate through that, the care and patience and empathy that we navigate through that with, is defining, not the mistakes themselves.
Within this Lunar Eclipse chart, we have two other aspects that I think are very important for me to speak to. One is really supportive and one less so. Okay. Jupiter is forming a lovely sextile to the Sun and Mercury conjunct to each other in Virgo, and it's forming a lovely trine to the Moon and the North Node in Pisces. And what this means is that we have growth potential, right? Wonderful. Beautiful.
Jupiter supports making connections, synthesizing experiences and information, and being open to and willing to grow. Gorgeous. We love it. It can also egg you on to just do more and more quickly. It can create a little impatience, in other words. So my advice to you is to breathe through impatience as it emerges. That's going to be easier for some people than others, but again, that's the assignment.
Now, the final thing I want to name about this particular chart is that there is a wide but still present Mars opposition to Chiron. What we know about that is that the ego is going to be engaged. So, if we're looking at that on an individual level, your defensiveness, your willingness and ability to be in your own skin, are being activated within this Lunar Eclipse.
On a more collective level, we are living through violent times with increase in defense spending and surveillance culture and violence on all manner of levels. And that Mars opposition to Chiron is one of many things that articulate that. Again, how you metabolize fear and anxiety is really important. And it's worth mentioning that fear and anxiety are not the same thing. They take different remediation and different care.
Something that you may have heard me say many times and I will say many times again is what is hard for you is not what is wrong with you. And this Lunar Eclipse and Eclipse Season in general, I want to remind you that what is hard for you is what needs care, nurturance, support. And whether your experience of this Eclipse requires that you tune in to your boundaries and find ways of supporting yourself more effectively, more empathetically, or you need to reach out to others and actually receive support—whatever it looks like for you, finding ways of staying present and staying kind is a part of the assignment.
There's nothing that you're supposed to do during an Eclipse. And in fact, you're not meant to control, direct, manipulate energy. This is not a time for any kind of energy work or spell work or manifestation work. A lot of people get scared of Eclipses, and I want to tell you there's nothing to fear with Eclipses. The reason why they're scary for most people is because they're emotional. But you don't need to fear emotional experiences.
Instead, understand that Eclipse Season is the time for you to develop deeper skills for coping with your emotions. And sometimes that's trying and it's challenging, but it's not bad. And it's not designed to harm you. Do your best to practice being emotionally present, emotionally accountable for identifying where you need boundaries or better boundaries or to return to your boundaries. Because we're dealing with a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, it is inevitably going to be about boundaries.
So practice staying emotionally connected to yourself, to others, and the world around you. And know that your capacity for love, your capacity for empathy, your capacity for care is a gift, even when it feels heavy. Nurture and protect that gift. So you can expect a great deal of emotionality to persist throughout the week. In other words, you're going to be in your feelings. Everybody's going to be in their feelings. And so we can expect that people are going to be acting a little out of pocket. People with power may do things spontaneously. You may just be exhausted, having weird dreams, having deep dreams, not sleeping at all—all classic intense moon things.
Now, that brings us to Friday, September 12th. We have not one but two exact transits. At 12:30 a.m. Pacific Time, the Sun will be exactly sextile to Jupiter. And then, later that day, at 2:53 p.m. Pacific Time, Mercury will be exactly sextile to Jupiter. First of all, the Sun will be at 19 degrees and 48 minutes of Virgo, and Jupiter will be at the same degrees of Cancer. And then, a little bit later that day, Mercury will be at 19 degrees and 54 minutes of Virgo, and Jupiter will have moved to those degrees of Cancer.
So these are two really lovely, supportive transits. They were active in the Eclipse chart, and they are exact now. So we're going to be feeling their effects all week long. Both of these transits indicate the potential for growth and expansion. You are more open to big ideas, new experiences. You're feeling more resilient and willing to try things out when the Sun and Mercury are sextile to Jupiter.
Mercury sextile to Jupiter in particular is good for communicating, for being open to really hearing what other people say and finding the way to kind of communicate what it is you want the other person to hear. This transit is excellent for learning something new. So, if you're a student or there's something you're really wanting to learn, this transit is your friend.
Now, the Sun sextile to Jupiter increases your sense of courage and bravery and your willingness to get in the mix, to engage and experience things. Jupiter is so much about experience, not just theory. Now, that said, Jupiter is also related to higher learning and religion. So it's related to spirituality but tends to be a little bit more connected to religion or an organization on some level.
And so Sun sextile to Jupiter may be a time where you feel more connected to other people on the same journey as you, whether that's intellectual, spiritual, experiential, etc. It is possible that on a social level, we will see the expansion of religion in some meaningful way. There's pros and cons to that, but that is what that is.
Overall, the potential here for actually synthesizing your experiences that have been occurring lately and specifically on the Eclipse is really strong. Your ability to jump in and get involved is strengthened. You are likely to feel more optimistic, resilient, a greater sense of vitality and even excitement. This is a really good transit for strengthening your health, so whether that's psychological, spiritual, or physical health.
So tap into these energies. Whether the best way to do that is by taking a break, jumping in, learning something new, having an experience, you can determine that for yourself. And in fact, a big part of the Eclipse is about boundaries. So having the self-awareness to know, "What's a good experience for me? What's a good opportunity for me?" versus, "What's, on paper, a good opportunity or a good experience but not necessarily at this moment or for me?"—that can be a major lesson that you're going through.
We all have choices. And part of what the Sun and Mercury sextile to Jupiter indicate is that you are likely to have access to the parts of yourself that are willing and able to make healthy, self-loving choices, expansive choices that better reflect your beliefs and what your convictions are.
Now, that brings us to the last exact transit of this week. On Saturday, the 13th of September—somehow, we're already in the middle of September—the Sun and Mercury meet. Now, this shouldn't be too surprising because the Sun and Mercury just yesterday were both sextile to Jupiter, so they were already really close to each other.
Now, at 3:52 a.m. Pacific Time, the Sun and Mercury will both be at 20 degrees of Virgo and 55 minutes. Now, when the Sun and Mercury meet—and we're still experiencing them sextile to Jupiter, which is, again, lovely, expansive, supportive—lots of things can happen. The first is shit gets busy. The tempo of your day-to-day kind of increases when the Sun and Mercury are close to each other. That means more texts, more DMs, more social engagements, running into people, just having a busy day, lots of emails, lots of communication. That can be positive. It can be negative, depending on what's going on in your life. But it tends to be a really positive thing. It's a lovely transit in that regard.
The thing I'm always a little on guard about when it comes to this transit is that when you overidentify with your thoughts and your ideas, it can disconnect you from your emotions and your integrity, even, because so many of us live lives where we're constantly just communicating, "This is who I am. This is what I think. This is what I think. This is what I think," that we're not actually practicing embodying our values, embodying our truth, our theories, etc.
And so this transit can be a time where somebody insists to you that they are something that you're not experiencing them as, or it could be reversed. So, while this transit is an excellent time to cultivate greater self-awareness about who you are and how you're showing up both internally on a very psychological and intellectual level but also in dynamic with other people in your personal life and with the world at-large, this is a time where you may get feedback or information that is at odds with your identity or your sense of self. Be open to it. I'm not saying believe everything you encounter. I'm saying be open to it because the best part of a Sun conjunction to Mercury is that your mind can be opened and your sense of self can be expanded. And the worst part is that you cling to your ideas in such a way that you limit yourself and even potentially isolate yourself from the people and situations around you.
Sun conjunction to Mercury can be a spectacular transit where your self-awareness expands or gets more grounded. It can also be a time where you just let busywork and distractions do their thing. So do your best to, again, identify during the Eclipse what your boundaries are. And then practice embodying that throughout the week and especially on and around this date, the 13th. In doing so, you bring the wisdom of Pisces, of being present with your feelings, of honoring nuance, of being in the flow, and you pair it with the wisdom of Virgo, your ability to discern what's happening in a given situation, what's happening in a given moment, and to approach it methodically, intentionally, and in a way that is grounded or rooted in what's authentic and aligned for you or authentic and aligned in your relationships because relationships inevitably require compromise. And so, as long as the compromises you're making in relationship with others don't require you to compromise yourself, then you're on track.
Because we are in Eclipse Season, you may feel tested. Your relationships may be tested. And the whole point of tests is not pass or fail. It's grow and evolve. This is a meaningful time for you to stay connected, connected to what's real. And by being connected to what's real, you may encounter fear, anxiety, uncertainty, complexity, and that's okay. Things don't have to be perfect. You don't have to be perfect. Instead, what we want to do is meet the moment. Just meet the moment. And if you don't know how to meet the moment, then meet that. Meet the not knowing.
During Eclipse Season—because after the 7th, the Lunar Eclipse has passed, but we still have the Solar Eclipse coming up. This Eclipse Season is about showing up empathetically, emotionally, authentically. You don't have to be perfect. It's about showing up. So I want to invite you to the practice knowing that inherent to any practice, you do not need to be perfect, and neither do the people you interact with. Hold space for the fact that everyone's emotional right now. Everyone's got a lot going on right now. How can you be more patient, more empathetic, more kind? How can you practice having healthier, clearer boundaries? Other people can be messy. You don't have to be. And also, you get to be. Just own your part as best you can.
Now, I'm going to run through the transits one more time just so you can write it down for your little notes. But as always, we have transcripts available on my website within about 24 hours of the episode's release.
On September 7th, we have a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. On the 12th, both the Sun and Mercury form a sextile to Jupiter. And then, on the 13th, the Sun and Mercury meet up in Virgo; they conjoin. And that's all the transits of this week.
