Welcome to Ghost of a Podcast. I'm your host, Jessica Lanyadoo. I'm an astrologer, psychic medium, and animal communicator, and I'm going to give you your weekly horoscope and no-bullshit mystical advice for living your very best life.
Welcome back to Ghost of a Podcast. So, this week, we're looking at the astrology of June 15th through the 21st of 2025. And there is a lot of really intense and important astrology. Now, I feel compelled to tell you that I am recording this on June 8th early in the day, and I am sharing this with you because I know that so much will happen between the 8th and the 15th, and usually I record, really, the day before the episode comes out so that I can stay up to date with what's happening in the world and stay connected to the energies of what is present right when the horoscope comes out. But I am not doing that this week because me and my forever fiancé are taking a little vacation, a shorty vacation, and that means we're recording in advance. So that's what's up.
I want to acknowledge that the astrology of this past week was absolutely intense and dramatic and consequential. I imagine that the world has, in meaningful ways, changed in these days between June 8th and June 15th.
We start off the week by looking at the two exact transits that occur on Sunday, June 15th. At 2:37 a.m. Pacific Time, Mars is at 28 degrees of Leo and 55 minutes, and it forms an exact square to Uranus at the same degrees of Taurus. This is an important transit, and it is noteworthy that Mars and Uranus are at peak Leo and Taurus energies respectively. This transit is explosive, chaotic, and all about change. And it's occurring between two planets in fixed signs and peak fixed vibes. More on that in a moment. Later that morning, at 7:36 a.m. Pacific Time, Jupiter will be at 1 degree and 18 minutes of Cancer, forming an exact square to Saturn at the same degrees of Aries.
These two transits are exceptionally important. Their overlap is very meaningful. And I spoke with you about it last week a bit. I want to just kind of ground you, in this moment, into how unpredictable and chaotic but also consequential these transits are. Let's start with the Mars square to Uranus.
Now, Mars is the ego, and Uranus is the drive towards independence, authenticity, and freedom. This transit is all about rebellion. It is all about revolution. But as always, we must question, whose vision of freedom? Whose revolution? There will always be those who deeply believe that in order for they, themselves, to be free, they must put their boots on the necks of others. There are others who deeply believe that while some of us are unfree, all of us are not free. And then there's a lot of people in between.
A great question to ask yourself this Mars/Uranus square is, how do you identify freedom? How do you feel free in your body—right? It's Mars. How do you feel free in your mind? This is Uranus, nervous system activation, right? What is freedom in the context of the world? We are living in a surveillance state. There was a time not that long ago, my friends, where if you wanted to—I don't know—wake up in the morning, talk to a friend, go buy yourself something, maybe breakfast or whatever—just live your damn life—there would be no corporations tracking those behaviors. None. And now, if you use a credit card, if you're on a mobile phone, if you're captured on CCTV—whatever it is, you are being tracked, tracked, tracked. It's bananas. And if you think about it too hard, it can make you feel really claustrophobic, I guess, depending on your nature.
When Mars forms a square to Uranus, we may see breakthroughs. Those breakthroughs may be of violence, of rage. Those breakthroughs may be in technology. Those breakthroughs may be people coming together to fight for our collective liberation. It may be people coming together to stomp their boots on the necks of other people.
Honestly, the thing about astrology, first of all, is just we can see the energies. We can see the probabilities. We can see the possibilities. But we as individuals—we have free will. And how we choose to use that free will is really important. It's important for you on a soul level, but it's important because it changes and shapes the world itself.
Mars square to Uranus is unpredictable because Uranus governs unpredictability. The implications for what this may look like are, again, just really hard to pin down. But what's not hard to pin down is that this is unpredictable and violent energy. Mars governs policing, military. Uranus is an insurrection. Uranus is lawless, essentially. And these two forces are in a chaotic relationship to each other right now and not in a very compromising state of mind because, again, peak fixed energies.
So, on a personal level, you are likely to be irritable. You are likely to be defensive. You are likely to have a hard time sitting in your body because your nervous system is all fucking activated. You're likely to be angry. You're likely to be motivated. You're likely to be passionate. Or if you're somebody who doesn't really experience these kinds of Marsy, Uranusy things in an embodied form, you may experience them in the projected form, where people are behaving that way at you or around you.
Most people feel impulsive, like, "I wasn't planning on turning the corner and walking here, but all of a sudden, I just did it." This may lead to something exciting or something new that shifts things for you in ways small or large, or it may lead you—you know, just being bold without a whole lot of foresight.
If you are protesting or doing any kind of sociopolitical action, it's important to respect the heat of the moment. Now, I'm not saying what to do/what not to do. But I am saying don't stoke a fire that you don't want to see catch. Don't take out your activation and aggression on other people, on situations, unless it is appropriate. In other words, be intentional. Now, the energy of this transit makes it really hard to be intentional, but that's a really good approach.
Mars square Uranus is a transit that's meant to be disruptive. It's meant to be triggering. And how you engage with feelings of being upset or triggered is a reflection on you. The theme of freedom is a really kind of nuanced and layered one. What actually is freedom? How do you assess freedom? Do you feel free in yourself? Are you true to yourself? Are you, yourself, the same way around all kinds of people and all situations? Do you center your own freedom over that of others? And in what ways and in what contexts? These are really great questions to ask yourself.
When Mars forms a square to Uranus, we have the opportunity to better get to know our own relationship to freedom. And this is why a lot of people get defensive and reactive and irritable, because you don't feel like you can just say, "Oh, I don't want to. Oh, that's annoying. Oh, I'm not in the mood." Instead, you defend yourself around those things, and it comes out aggressive. And here's the thing. You are not the only person going through this transit. Everyone is going through this transit. So, again, the energy is fucking hot.
Because both of these planets are associated with conflict in their own ways, it's important to know that the battles you take up and the energy with which you take them up are likely to be a big topic for you, like what it is that you're actually willing to fight for and fight about and how—and how. The how is so important.
This transit can mark a shift in how you go about doing things. This is less about your concepts and your ideas, and it is significantly more about your actions because Mars is involved. Mars is embodiment. It's action. It's ambition. It's assertion. And because of this, you are likely to want to assert yourself in a meaningful way or rebel against something or someone that you feel is limiting you or holding you back. And this can come up in really deep and meaningful ways.
We can look at this in the context of social and political conditions, and it can also happen because your mom wants to stay on the phone five minutes longer than you want to stay on the phone, and you may feel like you're suffocating. You know what I mean? It can come up in really meaningful and important ways. It can come up in kind of just "I am irritable" kind of ways.
Now, the thing that's really important here on, again, a personal level is that you don't push others away when what you're actually trying to do is take care of yourself. If you need space, you can take space. But pushing on people, pushing them away from you—it's going to have consequences that you're going to have to fucking deal with. So strive to be kind. Strive to be patient if you can.
On a more collective or social level, this is a chaotic transit, full stop. Fucking chaotic. And so the erratic energy may coincide with fucking anything. It's a little bit of anything goes. Is it something heavy-handed from the government or the military or some sort of armed forces? Is it the act of a lone individual, and realistically, individual male? Is it people-led movements, people-lead rebellions, much like we saw last week in Los Angeles and other parts of the United States, people coming together to protect their neighbors?
Now, of course, I hope for more of that because when we come together and we look out for each other—we show up for each other—it shapes the world. And that doesn't mean it always works out the way we want, because it obviously doesn't. But taking actions to shape the world, even when those actions aren't successful, is impactful. It is important.
Mars square Uranus can coincide with accident-proneness, especially if it's hitting your chart directly, which would mean that you have something late degrees of a fixed sign or early degrees of a mutable sign—so something to look out for in your birth chart. Mars square Uranus is associated with accident-proneness because it's all about impulsive action. And so, when you don't look both ways before you turn a corner, some shit might be waiting for you that you could have been aware of had you taken the time to be aware. If you're driving your car or on a bicycle or a pedestrian around cars—because Mars governs cars—you want to just be extra cautious. Just be really extra cautious.
Now, Uranus and Mars, as I said, can be very explosive. There's no value in predicting explosions or bombs or any shit like that. What is the value in that kind of a prediction? And also, we just want to be aware of the energy. The energy can show up in a lot of different ways. So, unless there's something you're looking to blow up—and I don't mean that in a literal way with a literal incendiary device. I'm just talking about if you're trying to blow something up in your life, okay, this energy is going to be helpful, I guess. But otherwise, proceed with a whole lot of intention and a good deal of caution.
Now, this transit overlaps with a Jupiter square to Saturn, and this is really fucking important. But in order to talk about the June 15th square between Jupiter and Saturn and—spoiler alert—the June 18th square between Jupiter and Neptune, we have to talk about the Saturn/Neptune conjunction. They are not in exactitude at this time, but they're about a degree off, and this means that Saturn and Neptune are at, like, 1 and 2 degrees of Aries.
So the last time that Saturn and Neptune were conjunct was in 1989. So this transit happens cyclically. However, the last time Saturn and Neptune were conjunct in Aries was in 1703. And if you are a history nerd, it's worth looking into the history of what was happening around the world in that time. We can look back to the last time Neptune and Saturn were sitting on top of each other in '89, and that's when the Berlin Wall fell.
When Saturn and Neptune meet up, we have the established norms of Saturn, the reality principle, the kind of collective structures of society which—you know, love them or hate them, they're a part of the human reality. So we've got Saturn and Neptune. Neptune is disillusion. It is high spirituality. It's escapism. It's humanitarianism. What is absolutely, irrefutably true—Saturn—and what is expansive, possible, impossible, nonmaterial, and inspired—inspired one way or another—meet up. And this fucks with our sense of reality. This fucks with how we've built the world. Really great things can come of it, and really challenging things can come of it.
With this transit, we can expect religious extremism, kind of like a religious extremist—as we are already seeing here with Project 2025, a religious extremist doubling down on male domination, which is essentially a violent form of heterosexist patriarchy, right? I mean, it's what we tend to have. Neptune and Saturn in Aries can provoke hierarchies, people with power, to have spiritual and ideological excuses or justifications for violence or for peace. Right? I mean, we see the trends right now. But the energy can go either way.
There's a lot of things to say about this transit, and I will say a lot more about them as time goes on. But it is important to kind of understand this energy, as I've said before, kind of has this clash of titans vibe to it because it can make or break enterprises, empires, your sense of reality—all of it. This is really challenging because it's a lot all at once. And as I've been saying for quite some time, this month, June of 2025, is when things really heat up, and then they change quickly. It's like things are getting hotter and hotter and hotter.
And for you to ask yourself the question, "What is real and what isn't? What can I trust, and what even is trust"—right? "How do I organize my efforts and my intention and my follow-through over the course of time? And does it feed me or completely drain me? Where does humanity fall into all of this?" So this is not just about you looking out for you or you looking out for you and yours. It's you understanding your individual role in the collective. It's a lot.
Because we're at the very beginning moments, Saturn is at 1 degree; Neptune is at 2 degrees of Aries. So we're at the very beginning of these two planets in Aries. And remember Neptune was last in Aries 165 years ago—it was a long time ago—Saturn, 29 years ago, so less long, but still long ago.
Because we're at the beginning stages of this energy and because of how fast things are moving, the energy is hot. Because of this, it's hard to figure out how to pace yourself, and it's hard to figure out how to navigate both how you feel, what's happening in your psyche, in your emotions, in your body, and of course in the world.
That lays the foundation for us to talk about the exact square between Jupiter and Saturn on the 15th, which is completely intwined with the exactitude of the Jupiter/Neptune square on the 18th. These transits are associated with major social change. Jupiter has to do with expansion and Saturn with constriction. So we are immediately seeing the struggle between the people with power and the masses, a sense of law and order and the drive towards freedom, globalism versus nationalism, humanitarianism versus capitalism.
This transit is tense, and it's tense as opportunities and freedoms feel curtailed as long-held beliefs and norms are challenged or clamped down upon. This transit can coincide with unexpected costs for actions taken. So, on a personal level, maybe you get a bill you weren't expecting. Someone comes back to you and is just like, "You know, when you said x, it affected me in these many ways," and you had no idea. You just were not expecting a thing. It could be something like that on a personal level.
On more of a collective level, we are seeing the tension between hope and restriction. We are likely to see legislative reforms. We are likely to see tensions really high under this transit. The potential with this transit is that we learn from the past, that we work with the existing structures and systems that we have. That's what Saturn wants us to do. And so, when we look at something like that Mars square to Uranus that's also happening, we are really looking at breaking down old systems that do not serve us. We are looking at the innovation of something new, although it's not a super stabilizing transit, but it is a rebellious and innovative transit.
This transit, Jupiter square Saturn, is much more about, how can we reform existing systems? How can we work within systems in order to create more freedom and more space? It's a transit that can coincide with an uncomfortable reality check, or who knows? Maybe it's a wonderful reality check. Let's hold space for that. But really, the tension between freedom and safety—it's always there. And it shows up differently for different people in different circumstances and at different times.
There are so many times that we give up our freedoms for safety. And the question is, is that always a good thing? Is it always a bad thing? Whenever we're dealing with these kinds of questions, ultimately, even though I just used the words "good" and "bad," I think it's really important to avoid that kind of thinking, like good, bad, all, nothing. None of that truly helps us.
So working on being honest in how you are relating to your current circumstances, to your current opportunities and struggles, and taking responsibility for your own patterns and for how you've shown up historically and whether or not it's worked—again, Saturn is about existing structures, grounding or steadying yourself so that you may stay present in the big picture and do the work that needs to be done over time. That's what this transit is trying to teach you.
And depending on your situation, depending on your nature, you may have more lessons to learn from Jupiter or from Saturn. But either way, it's a pretty fucking activating transit. In the larger context of what we're going through, it's pretty disorienting because it's overlapping with the Jupiter square to Neptune. So, as I said, Wednesday, June 18th, at exactly 8:16 p.m. Pacific Time, Jupiter will be at 2 degrees of Cancer and 6 minutes, forming an exact square to Neptune at the same degrees of Aries.
In the context of the larger stuff we're going through, it absolutely suggests that we are going to be meaningfully influenced by something like Project 2025, which is a religiously motivated legislative document/wish list/fever dream. I don't fucking know what to think of it. But Jupiter and Neptune are the two planets in astrology most associated with spirituality, with spiritual vision, with aspirations and manifestation and all of this kind of stuff.
When they form a challenging aspect to each other, this is where we often will see egregious acts from people in the name of their lord, in the name of their relationship to God, in their pursuit of prosperity for themselves. And this is where Jupiter once again teaches us that not all growth is good, that more isn't equal to better.
This transit can coincide with intense overindulgence. It's like a form of escapism that is just about kind of stuffing yourself so that you don't feel. I am a huge fan, as you know, of boundaries and discernment. And this is one of those transits that is bad for both. And when I say bad, what I mean is it does not inspire healthy discernment and clear embodiment and practice of boundaries. But trust and believe that's exactly what you need.
If you are somebody who experiences psychic or energetic sensitivities, whether you're a highly sensitive person or an empath or a medium or any other kind of person who has intense energy sensitivities, this transit is going to make you feel fucking porous, really porous, because Jupiter tends to blow out the already expansive nature of Neptune. And this is part of why it's associated with overidealism, escapism, disassociation, and being deceived, basically. Now, depending on your nature, maybe you're the deceiver. Maybe you've got a bill of goods to sell, and you really go for it under this transit, in which case try to have integrity is what I'll say to you.
But this transit—it really tests your faith. It tests your morality. And again, it is occurring under this larger backdrop of these other transits. The role of anxiety—Neptune—is really important here because when you are in a state of anxiety, you are not reliably assessing risk and potential effectively. When we are in a state of anxiety, when we're panicked, is when we tend to act out of our survival mechanisms. So Jupiter, Neptune—neither of them governs your survival mechanisms. But have enough panic, have enough overwhelm, and they tend to kick in, kind of like a generator when the power goes out.
And so don't do anything that further weakens your sense of reality. This is not the time to give your power away to someone or to something that promises to fix all your problems. And unfortunately, under Jupiter square Neptune, this sort of thing tends to happen. And so, while we currently have a president in the United States who's trying to be king—and a lot of people believe that he is some sort of spiritual figure who is going to bring about their salvation—we are likely to see something important happening this week around that, whether it's from his followers, from him, his administration—something. Something important is going to happen with that is my guess.
Jupiter square Neptune—and, very differently, Jupiter square Saturn—test your faith. They test your sense of reality. And when it's hard to stay in your body and it's hard to assess what's real and what's not real, when you know you want things to change but you're not necessarily clear about how or what it'll look like when they're different, again, it can be really activating.
This transit can be associated with burnout—all of these transits in different ways, but this particular transit can be associated with burnout. Take care of your body. Take care of your sweet, little meat suit because it is your foundation from which you engage with your own wellness, with your relationships, with your labor that you perform in the world—whatever it is—and however it is that you show up for this very important moment that we are experiencing socially and politically in the collective.
Now, this transit may coincide with, like I said, anxiety, paranoia, or just off-the-fucking-wall conspiracy theories. You are likely to be exposed to random people claiming to have psychic powers who are going to tell you about a portal, or they're going to tell you about this very important thing that's going to happen. If there isn't a track record of trust with someone who's making some sort of important promise or prediction, then hold off on devoting any energy, time, or loyalty to that person or idea. A new concept, a new teacher, a new inspiration that comes to you this week is not reliable. Now, you may determine in a couple weeks that that person, that organization, that thing is reliable. Maybe with time, you will assess that you can trust. But don't trust until you have a reason to trust, okay?
Jupiter square Neptune is very much associated with snake oil salesmen. This transit is perfect for getting bamboozled into believing something. You don't need predictions. You don't need promises. You need to be present because from the present moment—you being here—you can take care of yourself. You can show up. You can meet the moment, whatever the moment is, in the moment. Living in an unknowable future—it robs you of this moment. Living in an unchangeable past robs you of this moment, and it robs you of your ability to lay foundations for co-creating the future you want to participate in, you want to live in.
Jupiter square Neptune can provoke hope. It can stimulate your humanity and your empathy. And these are beautiful things. But without boundaries, they will tap you, and they will drain you, and you will burn out and lose your ability to sustain your care and engagement. And this is part of what Jupiter always brings up whenever it's squaring another planet. It tests your understanding and embodiment of proportion because, as I said before, unfettered growth is not inherently a good thing.
And when it comes to Neptune, the truth is we are spiritual beings having a material experience, us humans on this Earth. We are meant to live in our bodies. We are meant to navigate through society and systems and collective conditions. That's part of the human thing. Jupiter square Neptune tests your ability to stay connected to your intuition, your empathy, your care, and all that is and all that could be without abandoning your post as a damn human in a body that is connected to a planet and people and society, etc.
Now, one more thing I'm going to say about these transits is Jupiter square Neptune is definitely a transit that I'm going to be paying attention to in regards to communicable issues, food safety issues, and other environmental factors. There are lots of ways of staying informed and acting that reflect your care and investment in people who are vulnerable. And I encourage you to embrace those things.
And that, my friends, is this week in astrology. I do expect this week to be very fucking eventful. While these transits are in exactitude just on the 15th and the 18th, the effects of them will persist. And the larger theme of Saturn and Neptune being very close to each other in Aries will persist throughout the year and into next year. So engaging with these energies in your personal life, in your health journey, in your self-care journey, and in the world at-large—this isn't going to go away. You're not going to be able to hold your breath and wait for it to pass. This is a time to show up, to be accountable to what is real and how you're choosing to engage with it, with what's important to you, your relationship to your ethics, your beliefs, and your behavior.
Now, I will very quickly run through these transits one more time for you. On June 15th, Mars forms an exact square to Uranus, and Jupiter forms an exact square to Saturn. And then, on the 18th, Jupiter forms a square to Neptune.
This is an important time to take a realistic approach inspired by your beliefs and empathy to take practical steps to improve yourself, your life, and the world. And this week in the United States is Juneteenth. It's both a celebration and a call to action. It's a reminder for us to continue to celebrate Black resilience and fight for Black liberation.
Thank you for joining me this week for Ghost of a Podcast. My greatest hope is that it is a supportive resource. Take good care of yourself, and take good care of others. And I'll talk to you in just a couple of days. Buh-bye.
